Introduction
Brisbane Veterinary Services opened for business in October 2007. Our practice is located in Smithville, Missouri and serves clients within a 100 mile radius of the Kansas City, Missouri area. Below are some of the services we provide.
Comprehensive Care
We offer comprehensive medical care for your companion animals. Annual vaccinations to acute care and specialized exams are just a few of the services that we offer. We will assist you in developing a care plan that suits your animal's needs.
Digital Imaging
Clients want answers quickly and accurately. Our digital imaging system allows us to give you those answers within seconds. Our imaging system uploads radiographs to a laptop so that a treatment plan can be implemented immediately. Clients will receive a copy of the images for their records.
Lameness Evaluations
Dr. Brisbane is the only veterinarian in the area that offers lameness evaluations using the Lameness Locator™. The Lameness Locator™ was developed after more than 18 years of research on gait analysis of lame horses. The Lameness Locator™ is designed to be an aid to the practicing veterinarian for use during the normal lameness evaluation. Using three body mounted sensors that record the horse’s movement through a hand held PC, the Lameness Locator ™ offers an objective, precise and accurate assessment of body movement specifically related to lameness in the horse.
Reproductive Services
Proper breeding is important for the health of your mare and foal. When it's time to breed, we can assist with ultrasound, artificial insemination, and pre and post foal care.Pre-Purchase Exams
The purchase of a new horse is an investment that should be protected with a pre-purchase examination. Ensure that you are getting the horse best suited for your interest by contacting us to provide a pre-purchase exam. The exam entails an in-depth general physical, radiographs, flexion tests and a written evaluation of the exam.Dentistry
Both equine and small animal dentistry are available. Our clinic has advanced dentistry equipment which allows us to perform routine dentistry as well as complicated procedures.Emergency services
